Clan Line At Stratford-upon-Avon - August 1986

Page I

I caught Clan Line on one wet Sunday afternoon at Stratford-upon-Avon in early August 1986.  No. 35028

had brought in that week's Shakespeare Limited - a dining train originating from London Marylebone station.  I will

never forget being impressed by the sheer bulk of this locomotive.  As you can see she was beautifully

turned out - a real credit to her crew.  Her departure was very impressive - not a hint of wheel slip

on what must have been very greasy rails.

No. 35028 runs round.  Never hurts to have an extra bag or two of coal on hand!
