Trains from Dunfermline Upper traveled west through Oakley and Alloa to Stirling. Traveling east the line joined the Edinburgh to
Thornton line at Townhill Junction. Through running from Dunfermline Upper station to Dunfermline Lower station
(now known as Dunfermline Town) was via Touch North Junction and Touch South Junction. Today the new station
of Dunfermline St. Margarets sits almost exactly on the site of Townhill Junction.
